It’s obviously an overwhelmingly difficult task to understand what drives someone to commit acts of violence, especially when it’s on a mass scale like the recent attacks in Boston…
But even though the main suspect in the bombings was apparently driven by feelings of Islamist extremism and anti-Americanism, new reports claim that he was a recipient of US government funded welfare for a majority of his life.
Not only did Tamerlan Tsarnaev, his wife, and his child benefit from welfare up until last year, Tamerlan and his younger brother (and suspected co-conspirator) Dzhokhar Tsarnaev were also supported by welfare as children.
We wonder if Tamerlan — who was no doubt sick in the head — ever made the connection that it was because of an American policy that he was able to have a roof over his head and food to eat as a youth AND as a father.
Just… SO f*cked up.
