Boston Marathon Survivors Get Married (To Each Other!) Nearly A Year After Bombings!

It’s been almost a year since the horrific bombings at the Boston Marathon claimed 3 lives and injured hundreds more. However, two survivors are looking to erase the painful memories and replace them with some much happier ones.
Rebekah Gregory and Pete DiMartino, who were both badly injured last year, tied the knot in Asheville, North Carolina this weekend and are ready to start an exciting new chapter in their lives!
It wasn’t an easy road to get here, as Rebekah lost functionality in her left leg and Pete had to have reconstructive surgery on his eardrums. However, after months of recovery the two were able to get engaged in October before having their dream wedding in front of their family and friends!
While the bride is still overcoming injuries to her leg, it didn’t stop her from walking down the aisle and having her first dance with her new husband, and she says she couldn’t be happier about creating new memories together:

“Come next year, when we’re in the month of April, we’re not going to say, ‘This is the month we got blown up.’ We’ll say, ‘This is the month we got married.”

Rebekah isn’t quite out of the woods yet as she’s set to have her left leg amputated later this year, but for now she and Pete are looking forward to their honeymoon in the Dominican Republic next week which will be followed by a vacation to Thailand in June!
Words can’t even begin to express how happy we are for these two and we know they’re going to make some beautiful memories together!
