A woman in Hawaii is lucky to be alive after a massive boulder came careening THROUGH her home.
Caroline Sasaki was walking into her living room on Sunday night in Honolulu. Suddenly, without warning, a huge rock barreled through the wall of her house and crashed across the floor. And the whole thing was caught on video!
As her family later found out, the boulder had come loose from a hill above their house. It rolled down, gaining momentum until it crashed through a cinderblock wall in their yard. Then, it rushed straight into the home, blasting through a wall and missing Caroline by INCHES as she was walking down the hall! OMG!!!

The woman spoke to Hawaii News Now about the scary Sunday night event. She had been planning to go sit on the couch to watch television when the rock barely missed her:
“I heard the loud boom, and apparently, the boulder passed right in front of me, which I didn’t know. I didn’t see it. All I heard was the boom and then somebody asking me if I was OK.”
Caroline was one of four people in the house at the time. Thankfully, none of them were injured. Still, the video tells a shocking tale of a near-miss that easily could have been fatal. Sasaki refuses to watch the video, though. She told the outlet:
“Basically, I’m in shock. I refuse to look at the videos, so I’m not sure how close — but everybody’s telling me I’m lucky. God is with me.”
Jeez!
You can watch the video, though (below). It’s crazy to see how close the boulder gets to Caroline. And how much force is behind its push into and through the house!
So scary!!
And so sudden! There was no warning at all!!
According to Hawaii News Now, investigators are working to figure out how the boulder came loose from the hillside. The outlet reports the rock was still in the home as of Monday evening (as you can see in the screenshot, above).
For Sasaki’s family, rocks have been a worry ever since they first moved in more than a month ago:
“There was a concern before this even happened.”
Ugh. We hope that issue gets solved ASAP. And we’re just glad nobody was hurt! Truly a near miss!!
