Brad Pitt had a lot to be thankful for this Father’s Day.
A source says the actor has “been missing his kids like crazy” since Angelina Jolie won full custody of their six children following their divorce, adding that the previous custody arrangements were “painful” for the patriarch.
As we reported, a judge last week established an elaborate schedule for the 54-year-old to spend time with Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox as they reside with Angie while she films Maleficent 2 in London.

It was a much needed change for the actor, who had apparently been unable to visit with his children as often as he wanted to — even when they were living in the same city.
An insider explained to People:
“It’s been obvious that he has been missing his kids like crazy. To live so close to them, but not seeing them often, has definitely been painful for him.”
Typically, the kids reside in Los Angeles with Angie, where their estranged father also lives.
But because the court recently decided that “not having a relationship with their father is harmful” to the children, Angie now can lose full custody if she continues to stand in the way of Brad growing relationships with the kiddos!

The source said that there has “never been a set schedule” for Brad to visit his children, adding of the family’s previous arrangements:
“It all seemed very strange and unorganized.”
Now, the actor and his children have a summer of organized, chaperoned visits to look forward to, and he likely couldn’t be happier:
“Brad was always an amazing dad. The kids have always been his life. He has flaws like most people, but so does Angie. Brad must be so relieved that the court is now helping him.”
The actor has been in the U.K. since last week. He will stay near Angie’s England residence until he starts filming his next movie, Quentin Tarantino‘s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, later this summer.
At that time, Brad will balance his time between London and El Lay where he maintains a “very busy schedule.” The source dished:
“He often attends dinner parties, socializes with friends and attends events.”
Sounds like poppa’s got a full plate!
