We’re so glad that Brad didn’t turn this dispute into a Fight Club!
According to gossip columnist George Rush‘s new memoir Scandal: A Manual, Brad Pitt was angry with him from the moment they first met at a book club:
“I was introducing myself when he said, ‘I know you. You’re the guy who made me move. I was baffled. He explained that when he was in town shooting The Devil’s Own, he’d rented an apartment in the West Village.”
According to Brad, a radio station mentioned his address on the air after George’s column back then, Rush & Molloy at the New York Daily News, published it:
“I had guys ringing my buzzer all night, saying, ‘Yo, Brad, come down and party with us.'”
Brad got his facts wrong though, as it happened to have been Page Six that published his location.
George then called Brad’s publicist to set the story straight (and to potentially avoid an all out World War Z with the actor)!
Brad and George met four months later at Vanity Fair‘s Oscar Party, and although Brad’s Achilles heel might have been jumping to a wrong conclusion, he made sure to apologize for the error in blaming George:
“[Pitt] said, ‘Hey, Cindy (his publicist) told me that you guys didn’t print my address. I wanted to apologize for what I said.’ What? A celebrity was apologizing? I said, ‘No problem,’ and we had a nice conversation about how he’d gotten into architecture and was designing furniture. We shook hands and I thought, that Brad has class.”
We agree! Brad Pitt’s got great ass class!
