He may need to down a few bottles of his own wine after the week he’s had!
But we were super interested to hear Brad Pitt talk about the award winning wine he makes at his Miraval Estate winery in Provence of France.
In fact his wine – the C├â┬┤tes de Provence Ros├â┬⌐ Mirava – was ranked the “best Ros├â┬⌐” in the world back in 2012, so you know he’s doing something right!
Brad recently talked at length with Wine Spectator, and mentioned what he was thinking when he first ventured out into the wine business. He said:
“For better or worse, given my compulsive nature, if we are going to be in the wine business, let├óΓé¼Γäós make the best wine we can. I asked the question, “Why can├óΓé¼Γäót we make world-class wine in Provence?”
Brad approached the making of wine the same way he approaches all of his films. He said:
“Let├óΓé¼Γäós approach it like a film, and let├óΓé¼Γäós make something we can be proud of and people can enjoy.”
Brad, who bought the $58 million dollar estate with Angelina Jolie in 2012, isn’t just the money man behind this successful business of his. He’s getting his hands dirty, too!
He said:
“I├óΓé¼Γäóm a farmer now. I love learning about the land and which field is most suitable for which grape, the drama of September and October: Are we picking today? Where are the sugar levels? How is the acidity? Is it going to rain? It├óΓé¼Γäós been a schooling for me. In the off months, I enjoy cleaning the forest and walking the land.”
The stillness of farm life also helps Brad refocus, and brings about a peace for him that he isn’t able to find in Hollywood! He said:
“It├óΓé¼Γäós very peaceful and the antithesis of the drive, the want, the need to get ahead indicative of life in Hollywood. I├óΓé¼Γäóm instantly reminded what quiet sounds like.”
Sounds like Brad isn’t just making wine out there — he’s getting his zen on!!
And if you aren’t a fan of Ros├â┬⌐, don’t worry. Brad Pitt says that in seven years they’ll be making red wine, as well! Yum!!!
