That makes FOUR!
Brad Pitt‘s 18-year-old daughter Vivienne has officially dropped his last name, becoming the fourth of the six children he shares with ex Angelina Jolie to legally make the change.
According to People this week, a California judge officially approved Vivienne’s petition on Monday, without any objections. Her legal name is now Vivienne Marcheline Jolie, instead of the former Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt.

And this wasn’t an overnight decision! As you may recall, Vivienne first filed the paperwork in July, shortly after turning 18. She’d already been using “Vivienne Jolie” professionally back in 2024, when she helped her mom produce the Broadway musical The Outsiders.
So, yeah, this ultimately isn’t a huge surprise on its own. But here’s where the bigger family picture comes in…
Vivienne follows siblings Shiloh, Maddox, and Zahara in being those who have also legally removed Pitt from their surnames. Shiloh began the process on her 18th birthday in 2024, while Maddox and Zahara made their changes official earlier this year.
That leaves Pax and Vivienne’s twin brother Knox as the only two children who haven’t publicly made the same legal move.
Of course, as we’ve been reporting for years now, this all comes after Brad and Angelina separated in 2016, and then finally settled their divorce in December of 2024. And the family relationships remain strained. In September, for example, a source told People there was “very little communication right now” between Brad and his children. Well, apparently…
The individual reasons behind these name changes are for the children themselves to explain, as always. But FOUR of six kids legally dropping their father’s surname? That’s a pretty striking development in an already painful family situation.
