Brad Pitt has some new ink on the inside of his right arm… but while the tattoo may be fresh, the meaning of it all appears to have quite a throwback into his previous life!
The actor was discovered rocking the new art on Thursday, at the Venice Film Festival, when keen-eyed fans and photographers noticed he had a subtle new tattoo peeking out from under his t-shirt.
And when we zoomed in on exactly what the tattoo appears to be, well, let’s just say we were quite surprised!

As you can see, the tattoo on Pitt’s inner arm is of a man in silhouette, looking down at his shadow — a simple but meaningful piece of art almost implying the subject is looking back at something, or looking over something as the sun (metaphorically?) sets on him.

Look closer to where the man and his silhouette are placed: the new ink is directly facing a very meaningful tattoo Pitt got when he married Angelina Jolie back in 2014.
That tattoo, in script cursive, reads (below):
“There exists a field, beyond all notions of right and wrong. I will meet you there.”
Hmmm… suddenly, the man and his silhouette take on quite the metaphorical meaning, don’t they?! Is Brad looking back at his past — and honoring it? Does he miss it??
Either way, it seems clear he’s not over it. People can say they get tattoos to mark closure, but those who are really past something don’t get it permanently inked on their skin.
Just sayin’…
The divorce fallout has been real for both Brad and Angelina lately; the Maleficent star herself has gone on record at length in the last week discussing her recovery — both physical and psychological — from several tough years in her personal life. Family life is changing for the former couple and their children now, too, as the eldest Jolie-Pitt kids are college-bound (or close to it), and suddenly, life priorities have changed for mom… and apparently dad, as well.
