Brett Favre Had An NFL Offer At 44! Will He Be Returning To The Young Man's Game??

Brett Favre is retired, 44, and will always have fond memories of the NFL!
Sounds like he’s ready to live a simple life where he’s not being crushed by 300 pound men, right??
Well, maybe… because he totally was extended an offer to RETURN TO THE SPORT!
League sources have told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter that the St. Louis Rams reached out to Brett’s agent, offering him a way out of the boring hell that is retirement for sports stars.
So will he suit back up??
NOPE. Here’s what Brett said:

“It’s flattering, but you know there’s no way I’m going to do that.”

He isn’t just being difficult either, he hasn’t played in three years and struggled the last time he was on the field.
Someone even asked the Ram’s coach — Jeff Fisher — if the offer was real:

“During the process I didn’t disclose any information and I feel no need to disclose information after the process. That’s how we are. That’s consistent with our policy and our philosophy. It’s I don’t talk about the process.”

In other words, DUH OF COURSE WE ASKED HIM.
What’s the point of playing coy when it’s going to be seen as an affirmation anyway??
Brett, when he continued his response, pointed to the physical toll of the sport, and how he doesn’t want to get worse:

“I don’t remember my daughter playing soccer, playing youth soccer, one summer. I don’t remember that. I got a pretty good memory, and I have a tendency like we all do to say, ‘Where are my glasses?’ and they’re on your head. This was pretty shocking to me that I couldn’t remember my daughter playing youth soccer, just one summer, I think. I remember her playing basketball, I remember her playing volleyball, so I kind of think maybe she only played a game or two. I think she played eight. So that’s a little bit scary to me. For the first time in 44 years, that put a little fear in me.
“I think after 20 years God only knows the toll.”

We completely understand how health is important, and we hope he’s one of the lucky ones that got out of the game before too much damage was done. What we understand even more, though, is the family aspect:

“My family took a backseat for 20 years. My 14-year-old daughter plays volleyball and is in the ninth grade and will be playing again the next three years. I’ve taken trips that I never thought I’d take. I’ve gone to Yellowstone, and I’ve gone to Glacier National Park. … We’ve gone down to the Bahamas, we’ve done things that really everybody in my family just kind of waited for.”

We say he’s totes earned that simple and relaxing life.
