Zach Bryan may have been the one to officially announce his and Brianna Chickenfry’s breakup, but the writing was already on the wall… And Brianna was holding the pen!
On Tuesday, Zach surprised fans by revealing he and the Barstool Sports personality had split up after more than a year together. Brianna later told fans she was “blindsided” by his decision to go public with the news as she would have preferred some time to heal in private as they had only split the day before. But was she actually the one who first hinted at their breakup?
The same day the Pink Skies singer announced the news, the latest episode of Haliey Welch’s Talk Tuah podcast debuted, and it featured Brianna (whose real name is Brianna LaPaglia) as a guest. Innerestingly, while chatting about dating in the public eye, she reminded listeners that she once said she would NEVER date a famous person:
“I said on camera … I said on [the BFFs podcast] that I would never date anyone famous ever. Literally never wanted to and then it kind of just happened.”
Yikes! Well, considering how upset she is over how Zach, someone she loved “so unconditionally” just “discarded” her, maybe she should have trusted her gut…

Haliey asked what changed her mind, and Briana began to open up before cutting her train of thought short to give listeners an eerie warning:
“I don’t know, I wish it — don’t date famous people.”
Like we said, this episode went live just before Zach made the official announcement. It’s not clear when it was filmed, but maybe the exes were already knee deep in a rough patch? Or dunzo??
Brianna went on to talk about how she and Zach began dating after she attended one of his shows and made a podcast about it. He later slid into her DMs, and the rest is history… But she added:
“I think it’s better for the mental to not date anyone famous … It’s a lot.”
Talking about how she deals with all the “rumors about him,” the 25-year-old dished:
“The internet’s crazy, and they run with stuff, and I don’t ever defend myself online. So it kinda just spirals into like a snowball, because I think it’s stupid to feed into it. There’s new rumors every week so I’ve come to conclusion the internet will believe like anything.”
Sad but true.
One of the most persistent viral rumors is that Zach has been active on celebrity dating app Raya for a bit. But that may actually be true as several TikTok users posted screenshots of his profile. Maybe this was what Brianna was alluding to in her emotional YouTube video on Tuesday about loving someone “through stuff that you shouldn’t.”
