A newlywed couple have been charged with killing one of their groomsmen — just HOURS after getting married!
On Thursday, the City of Flint Police Department shared the disturbing story to Facebook. A man by the name of Terry Lewis Taylor Jr. was found with severe injuries in the Michigan city after police were called to the scene of a reported pedestrian crash. Quickly, EMTs transported Taylor to Hurley Medical Center — but sadly his injuries were fatal, and they weren’t able to save him.
The 29-year-old was pronounced dead on August 30, just a few hours after he’d been a groomsman in his friends’ wedding.

Police reported that earlier in the day, the victim attended the wedding ceremony of James Shirah, 22, and Savahna Collier, 21. Investigations revealed that after the wedding, Taylor ended up in an argument, which somehow escalated into him being run over. The post said the car was being driven “by the groom”!
“After the wedding he was involved in an argument which led to him being intentionally struck by a large SUV that was travelling [sic] at a high rate of speed and driven by the groom. “
WTF!
It’s clear the man must’ve been a close friend or else he wouldn’t have had such an important spot in the wedding party — so what kind of argument was it?! And how did it lead to the guy killing his groomsman?
James was charged and arraigned for second-degree murder following the incident, and is being held without bond. His new wife wasn’t off the hook! Savahna was charged and arraigned for accessory after the fact to a felony. She has a $4,000 bond, and has yet to bail out.
Genessee County prosecutor David Leyton spoke to the Associated Press about the incident, where he expressed his shock at the crime:
“I’ve never seen anything quite like this. I’ve seen people running over other people but not so soon after a wedding.”
While referencing police docs, Leyton shared more information about the incident. Turns out the wedding itself took place at a pizzeria. Afterwards, when everyone else had gone home, is when the argument happened. Reports state Terry was standing out in front of the home in the street when the SUV James was driving barreled into him. He also said the couple waited a day to go to police, which made it “more difficult to unravel what happened”.
Just unimaginable. This case really leaves so many questions unanswered… Thoughts, Perezcious readers?
