British Woman Ditches Tradition & Wears Her $364 Wedding Dress All Year Long - See The Relatable AF Reason!

A British woman named Dawn Winfield-Hunt is ditching traditional norms and making headlines over her decision to wear her bridal gown for an entire year after her wedding day.

Um, what? LOLz. All we can ask, is why?

First off, congratulations to Dawn and her husband Steve who tied the knot earlier this month in August. The bride was so enamoured by her one-of-a-kind dress, she didn’t want to take it off after saying “I Do.”

In a statement to UK tabloid The Sun, Winfield-Hunt admitted:

“Usually you only get to wear your dress once and then you put it in a box and forget about it. But I liked mine and decided to wear it the following day for a BBQ with friends and everyone loved it.”

An all-white frock to a BBQ? Quite the bold choice right there, LOLz!

Interestingly enough, the (above) mentioned cookout wasn’t the only unconventional event where she sported the dress!

So far Winfield-Hunt has worn the embellished gown to go grocery shopping, paddleboarding, kayaking, and even while doing regular household chores. She even wore it while doing some carpentry, per The Sun.

The 57-year-old’s dress reportedly only cost her $364, which comes out to about 300 British pounds. When you stack that number up against the average price of $1,100 USD (£906.68) for a wedding gown, that’s a pretty darn affordable ensemble right there!

The eccentric bride, who snagged her outfit from a local charity shop with its original £1,800 price tag still on it, says she plans to get her money’s worth by wearing it on the weekends. She’s also decided to create “a bucket list of adventures” to do while wearing her now-famous look, and she’s documenting the experiences on her blog.

On the decision to have some fun with her wedding look, she explained:

“Both myself and Steve, who is a curriculum manager, have been married once before and we thought we would have a bit of fun this time. Previously, like most women I put my dress away, never to be seen again but this one is going to have memories.”

Okay, okay. We know this whole thing sounds a bit crazy. Dawn knows it too, as she told the publication “my son Sam, 31, thinks I am mental.” But she’s having a lot of fun with the whole thing, admitting her dress “puts a smile on people’s faces.”

Winfield-Hunt does plan to give the gown some good washes throughout the year and says she’ll officially hang it up on August 2, 2020 — the day before her first wedding anniversary.
