Britney Spears will do whatever it takes to please her kids.
The pop star checked into rehab just a few days ago, according to reports this week, after her scary DUI arrest. Before making this big decision, the singer was surrounded by family and friends, including her sons, Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19. It turns out they played a MASSIVE role in getting her to take this step for her health!

A source told People on Monday that the boys were a “big part” of encouraging her to seek help. Brit Brit was rattled after her legal trouble last month:
“She was very upset and shaken after her arrest. And she’s terrified of going to jail. It’s taken weeks for her to realize that going to rehab is the best option.”
The insider added:
“Her team has pushed for treatment since her arrest. People around her do care a lot and are constantly trying to support her, but it can be difficult. There have been a lot of concerns since the arrest.”
The confidant blamed a lot of her recent erratic behavior on Britney winning back her freedom, remarking:
“There was a system in place during the conservatorship. Her life was structured and more stable. There were people guiding decisions and making sure things stayed on track. With her independence, you started to see more instability in her day-to-day life.”
But ultimately, because of all she’s been through in her past, checking into a treatment facility might not have been her priority. She’s got a lot of trauma from her past! However, it was her boys who were able to get her to think seriously about rehab:
“Her sons were a big part of getting her to rehab. They’ve been clear with her. They just want her to be healthy.”
While she ultimately checked in voluntarily, the 44-year-old Circus artist didn’t do so without any pressure on her! According to a DailyMail.com insider, Sean and Jayden had to give her an ultimatum! The source dished:
“She was dragging her feet. Saying that she’d go but then not really taking any actual steps to do anything. … Everyone was telling her that she needed to do something, as encouraging as we could possibly be. Nothing.”
As her inner circle grew more fearful that she was in “danger,” her sons reportedly staged an intervention — which ultimately influenced her to sign up for 30 days of treatment:
“The boys started to get involved. They’re the only ones she listens to, and they were so loving, so kind, but also so firm. This was non-negotiable to them. … She needed to get help and they told her that they wouldn’t take no for an answer.”
As for Britney’s reaction, they added:
“So she didn’t fight them, but she dragged her feet. She will do this for them: she wants to please them.”
The siblings, who are said to be “mature beyond their years,” made it clear to their momma that their relationship with her depended on whether or not she addressed her alleged substance abuse issues:
“It was like, ‘Mom you have to go if you want us coming around,’ and that was all the incentive she needed. … She wants a relationship with them, which would have been jeopardized if she didn’t go. So she made the right move and they say she seems happy about it.”
That could not have been an easy conversation, but it says a lot that Britney agreed to go voluntarily! We hope she gets the help she needs!
