Brittany Cartwright Granted Temporary Restraining Order Against Jax Taylor, Alleges He Threatened To 'Gut' Her 'Like A Fish'

Whoa.

On Thursday, The Valley star Brittany Cartwright requested a domestic violence restraining order against ex Jax Taylor amid their ongoing divorce, as she states she lives in “genuine fear of my safety and my peace of mind.”

In court docs submitted to LA Superior Court, as obtained by multiple outlets, Vanderpump Rules alum Brittany alleges Jax has exhibited a “pattern of acts of domestic violence” since 2015. She claims that ever since they separated in 2024, “the manner in which he abuses me has changed, but the pattern of abuse has continued.”

She alleges:

“During the past decade, [Jax] has exhibited a pattern of coercive control, financial abuse, emotional and psychological abuse, gaslighting and even physical violence perpetrated upon me.”

“Throughout our relationship, [Jax] has threatened to ‘gut me like a fish’, threatened to kill me, physically attacked me, thrown furniture at me causing me personal injury, broken at least three iPhones of mine, one iPad, destroyed property at our home, attempted to break in, stalked me, accessed my iPhone and messages and even Instagram account without my consent, deleted messages on my phone without my consent, removed my jewelry from the home without my consent and has refused to return them to me; as of recent he regularly threatens to go ‘public’ with false accusations against me and has in fact posted private messages exchanged between us on OurFamilyWizard (‘OFW’) containing private information about our son on Instagram, Threads and X.”

“He now uses our required communications concerning Cruz to harass and threaten me, he makes threats of public humiliation on social media, and he continuously confronts me during custody-related interactions as additional means of intimidating, harassing, and disturbing my peace.”

She further claims multiple incidents of Jax calling her a “c***”, “fatty”, “broke ass bitch”, and “whore” in front of their 5-year-old son, Cruz. Included in her request are multiple photos and transcripts of alleged audio of their fights with repeated notations of Cruz crying in the background.

A judge granted her request for the temporary restraining order, and now Jax must stay at least 100 yards away from Brittany, her home, her car, and from their son’s school at all times. She also filed for sole custody of their son, but a judge has temporarily denied that request pending a court hearing at a later date. More will be determined then.

On Friday morning, Jax took to Instagram Stories to release the following statement:

“I made a lot of mistakes and behaved in ways during that period of my life that I’m truly ashamed of and regret and take full responsibility for. The person I was in 2024, during the darkest time of my life and at the height of my addiction, is not the person I am today. I got help, went to treatment, and today I’m 1 year and 9 months sober. I’ve remained committed to treatment and therapy, working on myself and changing my life.

I was shocked to see claims about alleged incidents from over two years ago being brought up now, especially when there have never been any police reports filed or criminal charges brought against me related to them. There are allegations being made that I strongly dispute. The full story, context and evidence will be addressed where it belongs – in court.

I will respect the court’s orders and the legal process. My focus continues to be my sobriety, working on my mental health, being the best father I can be to Cruz and moving forward in a healthy and responsible way. All I can do is own my mistakes, stay committed to the changes I’ve made and make sure the choices I make today reflect the man and father I want to be.”
