Brittany Mahomes had some strict rules to follow at the Super Bowl.
Over the weekend, you may have noticed Taylor Swift‘s usual squad was missing her new bestie — and it was definitely on purpose.
While Taylor was cheering on her beau Travis Kelce, per an insider for DailyMail.com, Patrick Mahomes‘ wife was instructed to stay far away from the singer to avoid a “PR nightmare” involving Donald Trump. Yep…

The insider said:
“Brittany kept her distance from Taylor because of Trump attending the game. She was instructed to do so.”
That insider then went on to detail how it became apparent this was the right decision after Tay got booed during the game:
“That could have been a PR nightmare if the two were seated together when Taylor was booed. And everyone was forewarned that Trump would likely reference Taylor in one way or another and he did. It was in both of their best interests, given Trump’s attendance and his past remarks about Taylor, that the two did not sit next to each other.”
Of course, Brittany has expressed her feelings about Trump in the past in one way or another, while the 35-year-old singer notably endorsed Kamala Harris.
So, between political opinions, the sitting President’s obsession with Taylor, and how wild these appearances can get, it makes sense that this separation would be a smart move. Plus, a second insider made the point that Trump could use Pat and Brit combined as a way to get to the Fortnight singer:
“Friends feel Trump uses Brittany and her husband Patrick to get to Taylor. Although Brittany never vocally supported Trump, he is convinced by her actions and by the outspoken support of her family that she is very much a supporter. She has never denied it either.”
The source even went on to claim that Brittany has taken a step back from her friendship with Taylor because of this:
“Brittany is a pawn in Trump’s game to get into her circle. Trump is well-aware of their friendship, and he is very divisive. Any way he can take a cheap shot at Taylor, he will. This is likely why Brittany kept her distance.”
Yeesh. Really??? That seems hard to believe, but then again, we wouldn’t totally put it past him knowing, well, everything else we know about the guy… just saying…
