According to Brittany Murphy‘s mom, the house Brittany was living in was responsible for her death.
And the death of her son-in-law as well. The culprit in the house? Toxic mold.
If you don’t remember, Brittany sadly passed away in 2009 from pneumonia — and then her husband died of the same thing about 5 months later.
The mom, Sharon Murphy, would love to sue the builders of the house as they’re to blame for the mold problems, but says she was tricked by her lawyers into giving up her rights to sue the builders for wrongful death!
She accepted a settlement back in January for construction defects, and by doing so lost the right to go after them. She says that she had no idea she wouldn’t be able to do that once she got the settlement.
She’s now suing her lawyers for malpractice and wants them to pay what she could have won in that legal battle!
This IS pretty messed up, and someone should definitely be punished for the loss of two lives like this! Terrible!
