Diane Von Furstenberg Gets The Fairy Tale Treatment

Diane Von Furstenberg Gets The Fairy Tale Treatment

What a brillz idea!
Diane von Furstenberg has had a fantastic life–marrying a prince, launching her own fashion empire–so it makes perfect sense to use her biography as inspiration for a modern fairy tale.
British author Camilla Morton, who has also written modern fairy tales for Christian Lacroix and Manolo Blahnik, has spun a thoroughly enchanting tale called Diane von Furstenberg and The Tale of The Empress’s New Clothes, based on the children’s classic The Emperor’s New Clothes and the designer’s own story.
Though, according to Morton, her version of the tale will be much more empowering than the original.
She said:

“Diane is about empowering women ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ which is the exact opposite of the parallel tale so I liked the twist. The Empress is a revamped version of The Emperor├óΓé¼Γäós New Clothes, which is the story of a young girl who was swindled and bamboozled by fashion and ends up going out without her dignity. Sometimes looking at the crazy fashions people wear, it does make me think of those crooks in The Emperor├óΓé¼Γäós New Clothes and wonder if someone is having a laugh├óΓé¼┬ª Diane is the woman whose mantra ├óΓé¼╦£be a woman wear a dress├óΓé¼Γäó encouraged women to do just that ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ she has an amazing story.”

Sounds awesome, don’t you think?
Diane even did all the illustrations for the book!
We so need this in our life!
BTW, our life is totes fairy tale-worthy, too! Ha!
