While we love Scarlett Johansson, Carey Mulligan is the perfect choice to play the boyish 1920s flapper in Baz Luhrmann‘s adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby.
The film, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio, has had a string of young actresses attached, with Scarlett being the most recent name attached. However, with her commitment to Cameron Crowe‘s We Bought a Zoo, sources say Scarlett won’t be available by the time filming begins next summer.
So now, Carey Mulligan has stepped in to be the front-runner and we couldn’t have pictured a more perfect Daisy ourselves!
