Sad! Casey Anthony's Parents Attend Birthday Memorial For Caylee

A nice tribute, although Caylee should have never left us in the first place.

Yesterday, Casey Anthony’s parents George and Cindy attended a public birthday memorial for Caylee Anthony, who would have just turned six.

During the event, attendees released butterflies and purple balloons in the air near the spot where her remains were found. They chose purple because it was her favorite color.

Casey’s parents wore shirts that read “You Will Always Remain In Our Hearts, Caylee Marie Anthony 2005-2008.”

Here’s what George Anthony said about his, and his wife’s attendance at the event:

“We didn’t know how we’d be perceived. It’s just a great tribute to our Caylee. Other children have to come home, too. And that’s what should be concentrated on now. We know where Caylee’s at.”

We certainly think it’s nice that Caylee is being remembered, and we’ve got to at least give Casey’s parents credit for attending the event, despite the potential for hate to be directed their way.

And no, Casey Anthony did not attend the memorial, in case you were wondering.
