ZOMG!
We’ve been so focused on who will be portraying our beloved Finnick Odair that we hadn’t even thought about where he would fighting for his life once production starts up on Catching Fire!
Until now, anyway!
According to sources close to the anticipated sequel to The Hunger Games, location scouts have chosen the island of Kauai in Hawaii as the filming location for the big arena scenes during the film’s climax, which, for those of you familiar with the source material, was described as island/jungle terrain…with some pretty creative – and DEADLY – twists!
Nice! Not a huge surprise, but it still will serve well as the backdrop for all that clock-ticking terror!
However, island locals, don’t get too, TOO excited yet!
Apparently, production’s current plan is to film on-location there the last three weeks of shooting, and they’re not even starting up until the fall!
Even still, it’s so cool to hear about everything coming together, isn’t it?
