What terrible news.
It’s with a heavy heart that we must report that Twin Peaks actress Catherine Coulson passed away at age 71 on Monday.
The iconic character actor unfortunately succumbed to her cancer just months before she was set to appear in Showtime‘s reboot of the cult David Lynch Sci-Fi mystery series.
The Twin Peaks writer/director released a statement after Catherine’s death, saying:
“Today I lost one of my dearest friends, Catherine Coulson. Catherine was solid gold. She was always there for her friends ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ she was filled with love for all people ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ for her family ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ for her work. She was a tireless worker. She had a great sense of humor ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ she loved to laugh and make people laugh. She was a spiritual person ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ a longtime TM meditator. She was the Log Lady.”
Catherine’s absence will surely be felt when Twin Peaks returns in 2016.
Our thoughts are with her friends and family at this unbelievably difficult time.
Rest in peace, Catherine.
