While many mommas can’t wait to show off their beautiful baby bumps to the world, some celebs prefer to keep things under wraps!
Ultimately, we’re down for whatever floats the mother’s boat, but it doesn’t mean surprise births/ announcements don’t still throw us for a major loop.

Here are a few celebs who did a great job of flying under the radar with their baby bumps:
Cameron Diaz
Cameron Diaz may have technically retired from acting in 2018, but she’ll always be a star in our eyes. She kicked off 2020 on the best possible note, a surprise birth announcement of her first child with husband Benji Madden! On January 3, the pair shared a note to their Instagram accounts announcing the arrival of daughter Raddix Madden:
“Happy New Year from the Maddens! We are so happy, blessed and grateful to begin this new decade by announcing the birth of our daughter, Raddix Madden. She has instantly captured our hearts and completed our family.”
We’ve only received bits of info from insiders since Raddix’s arrival since the pair are typically super secretive, but we have no doubt they’re in total baby bliss!!
Kylie Jenner
For a family who shares everything with the world, this was a big shock! Kylie Jenner kept her entire pregnancy under wraps, only confirming the rumors once her daughter Stormi Webster had arrived. Although the secret wasn’t entirely well kept considering the intense spotlight on the KUWTK star, most specifics were not divulged until after the baby’s arrival.
In addition to the To Our Daughter YouTube video which documented much of her pregnancy, the mogul has dropped a few bits of info here and there regarding her time with a bun in the oven. She shared in one Insta Story post ahead of her daughter’s second birthday:
“I actually got induced. I thought I was going to have her on the second, 2-2-18, and she came early. They broke my water and I had her 45 minutes later.”
In the aforementioned vid, the youngest KarJenner explained why she chose to keep her pregnancy very hush hush:
“My pregnancy was one I chose not to do in front of the world. I knew for myself I needed to prepare for this role of a lifetime in the most positive, stress free, and healthy way I knew how.”
Alexis Bledel
Can you believe Rory Gilmore is a momma! But we didn’t find out about Alexis Bledel‘s pregnancy until she was already the parent of a young boy with husband Vincent Kartheiser, and you can thank her longtime Gilmore Girls co-star for that tidbit.
Prior to the beloved series’ revival premiering in November 2016, the Luke Danes portrayer sat down with Glamour and accidentally revealed a huge secret:
“She’s really blossomed as a woman and now she’s a proud new mother and married and happy. I remember her as an 18-year-old kid, fresh out of college coming into Hollywood and being a little overwhelmed. She’s just the most likable, intelligent person and adorable human being. She hasn’t changed at all. She looks the same. We’re comparing notes because my son is about a year and a half older than her young son. I’m showing her photos and videos and what to expect. We’re just really enjoying each other’s company.”

Reps for Bledel and Kartheiser did confirm the happy baby news, but we have yet to get any info about his date of brith or name! At this rate, it’s unlikely we will considering the former Mad Men co-stars like to keep things very hush hush.
Rashida Jones
News didn’t break that Rashida Jones welcomed a baby boy with BF Ezra Koenig until a month after his arrival! Looking back at it now, there were a few photos which hinted at a possible bump, but no one really had any idea that she was even preggers.
ICYMI, the Parks and Recreation alum and Vampire Weekend frontman have been linked since 2015, but never gave us many details regarding their relationship. In September 2018, the tea was spilled that a month earlier on August 22, Rashida had welcomed her son Isaiah Jones Koenig into the world!
Leighton Meester
Leighton Meester has not just kept one, but TWO pregnancies a secret! Not only did the Gossip Girl alum and husband Adam Brody get hitched in 2014 without making a peep in advance, they’ve done the same with two pregnancies.
Back in 2015, they welcomed daughter Arlo Day just a few months after Miz Meester was spotted rocking her first baby bump. And history repeated itself in 2020 when the Blair Waldorf portrayer was seen out on a family walk with her husband, daughter, and baby bump in tow!
