So… remember a couple weeks back when Selma Blair said Cameron Diaz was retired from acting, and then everyone reported it as fact — causing Selma to backtrack and say she wasn’t being serious?
Well, it turns out she was right!
Entertainment Weekly put the actresses back together, along with their costar Christina Applegate, for a reunion Q&A about the 2002 comedy The Sweetest Thing.

When the trio were asked if they still hung out, Blair and Applegate said they (and their kids) did — but not so much Diaz.
So Cameron replied:
“Maybe I should, you know, I mean, I’m down. I’m literally doing nothing.”
Applegate responded:
“I’m literally doing nothing, too! I’m semi-retired, I haven’t worked for years. I’m a mom, that’s what we do. So I’m around, man.”
Really? Christina Applegate semi-retired? Critics were just too darn harsh on that Vacation reboot…
But that comment opened the door to Diaz, who then confirmed:
“That’s so awesome. I’m totally down. I’m semi-retired, too, and I am actually retired, so I would love to see you ladies.”
We’re happy to hear about a Sweetest Thing hangouts IRL — and we’re obvi hoping for them to break out into songs about penis — but we’re sad to hear no more Cameron Diaz movies.
For now anyway. She’s contractually obligated for Sex Tape Too and Sex Tape 3: Yet Another Sex Tape. LOLz!
