Chanel‘s ridiculous hula hoop bag and Celine‘s weird furry shoes will be available for the masses this spring and it’s all because of social media.
The fashion houses never intended to reproduce them, but after Instagram and Twitter exploded at the sight of them, they couldn’t say no.
French department store Printemps already put their order in for the bag in the original size and the smaller 28-centimeter version which is priced at $2,400, while Kirna Zabête and Barneys signed up for the mink furkenstocks, which will retail for $895.
It’s crazy to think how powerful a tweet or Instagram picture can be, especially for retailers!
