Rest in peace, Charlie Gard.
On Friday, the parents of the 11-month-old baby who stole everyone’s hearts (even Donald Trump‘s) while battling a rare degenerative disorder — that required machines to keep him alive — announced their son had passed away.

After an emotional legal battle over his care, Connie Yates and Chris Gard made the difficult decision to take Charlie off life support and enter him into hospice yesterday.
The devastated parents said:
“Mummy and Daddy love you so much Charlie, we always have and we always will and we are so sorry that we couldn’t save you. We had the chance but we weren’t allowed to give you that chance. Sweet dreams baby. Sleep tight our beautiful little boy.”
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this incredibly hard time. Your fight touched us all.
