Ever wonder why Chelsea Handler has never hosted Saturday Night Live?

Now that gurl is no longer answering to a TV network, she’s getting even MORE candid!

And in a recent interview, she gave us a peek behind the curtain at what she thinks are some major failings on SNL‘s part! When asked why she hasn’t hosted, she said:
“They said, ‘Oh, we have to have you host.’ My agent called, he said, ├óΓé¼╦£You’re hosting SNL. They’re gonna give you a date in the fall.’ And then it never happened.”
But then they asked her again a couple years later. She said:
“I said, ‘OK, great. Well, they blew me off last time, I don’t know what the issue was.’ And I think the thing I heard was something like… the writers have a problem anytime we bring on a comedian, which is complete nonsense. I mean, Sarah [Silverman]├óΓé¼╦£s hosted, Lena Dunham hosted it.”
Yeah, that doesn’t make any sense. Comedians are historically great hosts! Richard Pryor, Steve Martin, and Louis C.K. all killed it!

Chelsea thinks that’s just a bad excuse. She said:
“I feel bad for people who can’t just say, ‘Listen, you’re just not our cup of tea.'”
Absolutely! After all, there are plenty of people who LOVE Chelsea’s flavor!
