Oh, Cher!
The legendary singer/actress was on The Late Show With David Letterman last night to promote Burlesque, and while discussing Chaz‘s recent render reassignment, she referred to him as a “lesbian!”
She said:
“She was a lesbian – she still is – but it’s not the same now. She has a beautiful girlfriend. But it’s not the same thing as being a homosexual, you feel as if you’re in the wrong body.”
You’ve got it half right, bb, but you can’t use the word lesbian! Chaz is TRANSGENDER.
Obviously, for a multitude of reasons, we know you mean nothing by it, but still!
It takes getting used to, but please, bb, as an icon in the LGBT community, you need to make more of an effort!
