Chet Hanks Gives Update On Parents Tom Hanks & Rita Wilson Following Their Diagnosis

Chet Hanks returns with an update on Tom and Rita Wilson

Chet Hanks has returned to once again soothe us amid the coronavirus crisis.

Tom Hanks’ son returned to social media on Monday night to give fans an update on his dad and mom, Rita Wilson, a week after the couple revealed that they had tested positive for COVID-19.

While he wasn’t shirtless this time around, the 29-year-old was just as calm and collected while explaining to his followers that his parents were “out of the hospital.” He said:

“They’re still self quarantined obviously, but they’re feeling a lot better, so that’s a relief. My prayers go out to you because a lot of people are suffering other than my parents right now.”

To be exact, 183,356 people have suffered from COVID-19, and at least 7,166 of those patients have died, according to Johns Hopkins University.

As you know, the pandemic has caused a mass panic, with cities going into lockdown and citizens across the globe stocking up on water and toilet paper. Chet also had a message for all those frightened consumers who have apparently been preparing for some sort of zombie apocalypse, telling them:

“I think the most important thing is we just stay calm because panicking really isn’t necessary, and it’s just making things more difficult than they need to be. If you went to the grocery store and hoarded all the water and toilet paper for yourself I think you’re the problem… I think if we all just be a little less selfish and a little more selfless we’re gonna be completely fine.”

Preach, Chet.

The update comes a week after Chet shared a video consoling his followers about Tom and Rita’s diagnosis, letting fans know the beloved couple was “not tripping” and “not even that sick.”

He said, shirtless and covered in tattoos:

“Yeah, it’s true, my parents got coronavirus. Crazy. They’re not even that sick. They’re not worried about it. They’re not tripping but they’re going through the necessary health precautions, obviously. I don’t think it’s anything to be too worried about… Much love.”

Thanks for calming us down, Chet. We look forward to your next update — with whatever outfit and accent choice you want!
