This sounds like something straight out of a VERY bad movie…
On Tuesday, Jared Leto revealed he only just learned how much the world has changed due to the coronavirus outbreak! News about COVID-19 can be found everywhere you turn and President Donald Trump has already declared a state of national emergency in the US with even more important changes to follow, so, how could the 48-year-old thespian not have any clue what the heck was going on??
Well, before you say it, he wasn’t exactly living under a rock!

The Suicide Squad actor took to Instagram and explained he was off the grid, doing a silent meditation in the desert for the past 12 days. As a result, he was cut off from all news, technology, and updates about the current state of affairs. He began:
“Wow. 12 days ago I began a silent meditation in the desert. We were totally isolated. No phone, no communication etc. We had no idea what was happening outside the facility.”
When Leto finally surfaced from the secluded retreat, he quickly learned the world was far different than how he left it:
“Walked out yesterday into a very different world. One that’s been changed forever. Mind blowing — to say the least.”
The Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman added he is getting up to speed with the global pandemic and urged his followers to stay safe during these trying times:
“I’m getting messages from friends and family all around the globe and catching up on what’s going on. Hope you and yours are ok. Sending positive energy to all. Stay inside. Stay safe.”
CRAZY!
As we mentioned earlier, Jared’s situation sounds almost unbelievable and far from the way we’d ever want to find out about something like this. Unfortunately, he’s not alone in this nightmare as the cast of Big Brother Germany is also reportedly blissfully unaware of the coronavirus. According to The Guardian, the contestants — who’ve been filming the reality show in isolation since February 6 — will be notified about the pandemic live on air Tuesday night. Sounds like must-watch TV, if you ask us!
In the meantime, let’s all follow Jared’s lead and self-isolate until things get somewhat under control.

Earlier this week, Trump announced a new set of guidelines aimed at stopping the spread of the coronavirus which includes urging elderly people and immunocompromised individuals to isolate themselves and work from home if at all possible. He also urged everyone to avoid gatherings of more than 10 people. Bars, restaurants, and movie theaters in New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey have also been forced to close in an effort to contain the outbreak and limit gatherings of potentially sick people.
