Even with Wicked becoming a box office smash, it feels like no one remembers 2013’s other The Wizard of Oz prequel/reimagining Oz The Great and Powerful. You know what we do remember? Mila Kunis talking to a cute, doe-eyed new reporter on BBC Radio 1!
Chris Stark told her she should come have a beer with his mates at the pub, asked her to be his date for a wedding, he just seemed totally starstruck! He may as well have had little heart eyes! And what made the interview so great is how Mila was so happy to talk to someone real — and not get the same five questions! The whole convo was just the best thing on the internet that day…
Well, Chris kept on being a fan fave at BBC Radio 1 with Scott Mills. A couple years back, after a decade, he moved on to host Capital FM‘s Breakfast Show. But he hasn’t been on in a while… and he just told fans why.

On Monday morning, he revealed he had been diagnosed with testicular cancer. He recounted:
“Around a couple of months ago, after a routine trip to my local doctor, I found out I have testicular cancer. I had surgery pretty quickly and have been off the radio/podcasts the last couple of weeks having chemotherapy to best prevent anything from coming back.”
Oh no! Such a good thing he caught it soon enough to treat! But that’s why he’s not keeping it secret, despite the intimate nature of the cancer (and the surgery), explaining:
“The reason I want to share this is that I feel like an idiot that didn’t spot this sooner. And although I’m effectively cured [as] it was caught early, my hope is any bloke reading this will perhaps think to check themselves today. Or go to a doctor if [they’re] not sure about any possible symptoms. Caught early, this cancer is so so treatable. It is most common in men aged 18-49. I also think it’s a tricky subject matter to talk about, but I’m willing to put my now one ball on the line here if it helps make that conversation less tricky for guys [or] encourages someone to check themselves and potentially saves a life.”
Aw! What a brave thing to come forward and say! Good for him! Still being a great bloke and winning the internet! See his full post (below):
