After the countless stories we’ve posted about the hazards and violent mayhem that goes on at Chuck E. Cheese restaurants (?), the fact that people are surprised by this is what surprises us most!
In Las Cruces, New Mexico, 4-year-old Corbin Anderson had his birthday part at a Chuck E. Cheese in town to commemorate the milestone birthday. Before he got dived into a personal pan pizza, the spokesmouse himself came out to greet the tyke and pose for a picture he could cherish forever. However, as you can see, Mr. E. Cheese appears to making a gesture towards the camera. Some call it “The Finger,” some say flipping the bird, but the point is – the mouse is sending a message! That seems pretty clear to us.
Well, not so much for the company, as a spokeswoman for the pizza chain says the crude gesture was simply a – wait for it -wardrobe malfunction. She explains:
“He has big wide paws, like a glove, and they’re lumpy and not clearly defined. His glove is a thumb and three fingers, so what you see is his index finger extended – not his middle finger.”
Huh. How clever of the costume designer to construct the costume in this fashion. You know, Donald Duck only has three fingers too and we’ve never seen him make that gesture. What else you got???
Like us, the kid’s parents aren’t convinced this was human mouse error either and they are taking their outrage to the streets. The boy’s father explained:
“Why would you do that? If you don’t like your job, there is somebody else out there who would love to do what you do. You can go somewhere else to flip somebody off. That’s inappropriate.”
Indeed it is, sir. From now, you should take your money and business elsewhere. In fact, why doesn’t every parent in America make this pack to stop taking their kids to Chuck E. Cheese. It’s no longer the place where a kid can be a kid.
It’s where innocence goes to be lost!!! Save the children! Cut off the Cheese!!!
