A cobalt blue lobster was caught by fishermen off the east coast of Scotland.
A man found it at a fish marker in London. When he saw the lobster, he knew what he had to do.
He said:
“It’s the most striking blue lobster I have seen in my 30 years in the business and was too nice to put in a pot and boil.”
So he bought the lobster, took it home and notified the National History Museum.
Luckily, the seller didn’t try to gouge the man over the unique lobster. The man said:
“I had a word with the seller and we both agreed on how nice it looked. He sold it to me for $16, which is the normal price for a lobster that size.”
Researchers believe the lobster got it’s color by a rare genetic mutation.
The lobster is now on display at the London Aquarium.
He’s blue, he’s beautiful, he was born that way!
