We’ve been hearing whispers about this big step for what feels like months, but now it’s basically official!
People magazine revealed on Wednesday that, yes, Prince Harry, 41, and Meghan Markle, 45, are indeed going back across the pond!
As you know, Prince William‘s younger brother and the Suits alum decided to step away from royal duties in 2020 — and they didn’t do so quietly! They went on Oprah to explain their decision, citing various less-than-pleasant experiences during their time with the monarchy.

But time heals, as they say — or at least helps one forget! Cuz according to People‘s extremely reliable sources, not only are they relocating to Britain THIS MONTH, they’re also enrolling their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, in school there.
To be clear, though, their residence there will be private and NOT associated with the royal family. So, no, this will not be another Frogmore Cottage situation. Still, it’ll be nice for them to be close by should they want the little ones to hang with their cousins, should any big family events occur, etc. The magazine even reports that King Charles is most delighted with the news, hoping this will allow them all to reconnect more often through private family gatherings.
That said, if they ever decide they need some time away again, no worries. They’re keeping both their California home as well as their Portugal vacation home. Plenty of options to make things work best for them!
And considering how much friction there’s been in the past, we’re hoping this move brings with it a fresh start, a new chapter for forgiveness and rift mending, and all-around happy family times!
