This is so awful.
The University at Buffalo has announced that one of their football players, defensive end Solomon Jackson, died on Monday night after suffering from an unspecified medical emergency last week at practice.
The 22-year-old native of Stone Mountain, Georgia was at a conditioning workout with teammates last week, on the morning of February 22, when he suffered from some sort of medical problem and was rushed to Buffalo General Hospital in upstate New York.

His condition didn’t improve all week long, and last night, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The university is unable to share more information because of federal privacy laws surrounding medical care, but the school’s football coach, Lance Leipold, will issue a statement in the next few days, according to media reports.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Jackson’s family during what must be an unimaginably difficult time.
