Conan Debuts To Mostly Negative Reviews

So maybe Conan O’Brien just needs some time to warm up to the West Coast or the West Coast needs some time to warm up to Conan because the reviews of his debut show are lukewarm.

Despite being “a large-scale, impressive debut,” another reviewer called the show “a work in progress,” with some of the lingering sketches “at times, painfully unfunny.”

A reviewer, however, pointed out “that success in late-night depends on the long haul,” and while we think that Conan has got what it takes, he might have called it when he joked that “I think I’ve timed this move perfectly. I’m on a last-place network, I moved to a state that’s bankrupt and The Tonight Show is sponsored by General Motors.”
