We believe you, Coco!
Back in July, Robert Alexander Kaseberg filed a copyright infringement lawsuit in California against Conan O’Brien, TBS, Conan Executive Producer Jeff Ross, and head writer Mike Sweeney, claiming that four jokes from his blog and Twitter account were used on Conan.

One of the jokes in question poked fun at Delta Airlines saying:
“A Delta flight this week took off from Cleveland to New York with just two passengers. And they fought over control of the armrest the entire flight.”
The lawsuit claims that the same joke appeared on Conan that same evening!
Despite having previously released an official statement through his production company Conaco — Conan is now speaking out about the lawsuit personally.
The late night host has come forward and said that there is no way the jokes were lifted and that his material is “independently created.”

The 52-year-old comedian goes on to say that since Kaseberg’s jokes are so general and based on current events, they can’t be copyrighted at all!
While this sounds like he’s knocking Robert’s jokes — and essentially knocking his own jokes — we definitely agree with Conan that it’s possible for two people to come up with similar jokes!
In fact, O’Brien’s right-hand man, Andy Richter, hit it on the head back in July when he tweeted:
There’s no possible way more than one person could have concurrently had these same species-elevating insights! THESE TAKES ARE TOO HOT!
