Honestly, what did they expect? You don’t invite Sarah Silverman unless you’re ready for a little un-PC humor!!
The comedienne performed at TED, a conference on technology, education and design, and she had a couple of choice comments for Sarah Palin‘s crusade against using the word ‘retarded’ – which mainly involved her using the word as many times as possible.
“The only problem with adopting a retarded child is that the retarded child, when you are 80 is well, still retarded and that she wouldn’t enjoy the freedoms of setting them free at age 18, so she was only going to adopt a retarded child with a terminal illness so it has an expiration date, because who would adopt a retarded child with a terminal illness? Well, someone who was awesome like her.”
Eek! Silverman also sang a song about penises, which then prompted TED organizer Chris Anderson to passively aggressively insult Silverman in 140 characters or less on Twitter!
I know I shouldn’t say this about one of my own speakers, but Sarah Silverman was god-awful…
Silverman was having none of that and responded with a whole lot more spine AND a whole lot more HIGHlarity.
Kudos to @TEDChris for making TED an unsafe haven for all! You’re a barnacle of mediocrity on Bill Gates’ asshole.

It appears Silverman was just getting started, though. Co-founder of AOL Steve Case started up a Twitter war of his own with Silverman when he commented that she was an inappropriate choice for the conference. She responded with this HIGHlarious gem.

Team Sarah on this one – if they thought she was going to not push boundaries, they were STOOPID to invite her. Either stand behind your decision or keep your mouth shut, don’t throw her under the bus!!
