Cornell University Fraternity Hit With Probation After Allegedly Conducting A 'Pig Roast' Sex Contest With Overweight Women

Well this doesn’t paint fraternities in a positive light.
It seems the scandal involving Cornell University‘s Zeta Beta Tau fraternity has finally come to an end. Per reports, the controversial frat has officially been disciplined for holding a sex contest referred to as a “pig roast.” Apparently, new members were to earn “points” by sleeping with numerous women and were not supposed to inform their partners about the contest.

Here’s where things get worse… Allegedly, if a tie occurred, the brother who had sex with a woman who weighed the most would be granted extra points. Ugh. Is this REALLY what’s going down at Ivy League schools??
An investigation conducted by the university concluded this January, and resulted in Zeta Beta Tau being hit with a two year probation. The frat is also required to undergo a chapter brotherhood review, as well as, meet with its national organization for an external review.
The fraternity must also hire a live-in advisor AND will participate in a mandatory bystander education program. Okay, we can get on board with this specific punishment. Learn how to respect women, bros!!!
The investigation into the chapter began after Cornell’s Office of Sorority and Fraternity Life received multiple reports of misconduct in 2017. In response to the ruling, the fraternity claimed they were informed of the alleged misconduct back in December. However, the brothers noted that they did not sanction a “pig roast” competition.

They shared in a statement:

“We, too, are in disbelief and even more so that these alleged actions may have been taken by those whom we called brothers. As a result, we are looking inward to ensure this type of behavior never occurs by anyone connected with ZBT, or the campus community as a whole, on our watch.”

Why do we have a hard time believing this?? Be sure to take a look at their ENTIRE statement for yourself (below).
