D4vd has been arrested on suspicion of murder in the case of Celeste Rivas.
On Thursday night, per TMZ, the Los Angeles Police Department showed up at the singer’s Hollywood rental home and arrested him. According to eyewitnesses, K-9 units, as well as the robbery-homicide division and the gangs and narcotics division were present at the scene. They reportedly searched the home for over an hour.
Officers from the robbery-homicide division later told the outlet that D4vd was arrested on suspicion of killing the 14-year-old girl, and he’s currently being held without bail. Charges currently have NOT been filed against him.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney said in a statement to the outlet:
“Our office is aware of the arrest of David Anthony Burke by the Los Angeles Police Department. The case is expected to be presented to the Major Crimes Division, at which point prosecutors will review the facts and evidence to determine whether there is sufficient evidence to file charges. At this time, additional information is not available. We will share an update on Monday once a filing decision has been made.”
Celeste was sadly found deceased in a Tesla seven months ago after going missing at just 13. The car was discovered in an empty lot near D4vd’s rental home in the Hollywood Hills. At the time, he was in the middle of a tour and quickly cancelled his remaining shows after her body was found.
Fans have repeatedly asked why an arrest was taking so long. Well, authorities have to work diligently to make sure they have a case before they make an arrest. Now, it looks like, they may have just that. But his defense team is confident their case may not be so strong, saying in a statement to AP:
“Let us be clear — the actual evidence in this case will show that David Burke did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez and he was not the cause of her death. There has been no indictment returned by any grand jury in this case and no criminal complaint filed. David has only been detained under suspicion. We will vigorously defend David’s innocence.”
Our heart continues to be with Celeste’s family. We hope she gets the justice she deserves.
