Dakota Mortensen is addressing the alleged domestic dispute with Taylor Frankie Paul that shut down production on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
As Perezcious readers know, there is currently an open “domestic assault investigation” stemming from an alleged conflict that happened between the former couple last month. The allegations come days before Taylor’s season of The Bachelorette begins airing, and the timing has some fans suspicious. Many are even questioning if Dakota leaked the news to sabotage the 31-year-old reality star. However, in his first statement on the situation, he insists he did NOT. A rep for Dakota told Entertainment Weekly on Wednesday:
“His number one priority here is protecting [their son], Ever. He knew there was a possibility it could come out, but he was not going to be the one to proactively do that because he has always wanted a decent relationship with Taylor. It’s been really hard to achieve that, but he wants to coparent well.”

There are conflicting reports about what went down between them. He reportedly claims she got physical with him, but she says he was the aggressor. His rep now denies that Dakota is to blame for the domestic dispute, adding:
“He was just hoping that if he says nothing, as he usually does, it would go away. He’s never done any kind of sit-down interview about his side. He kind of just lets it all happen to him, and I think he realizes with the severity of everything now that he just can’t do that.”
Sooo, can we expect a sit-down interview for his side of the story one day? Hmm. Reactions to the statement? Let us know!
