This week, Dancing With the Stars took a journey through time for Eras week! Each couple performed a dance that complemented an era from the roaring 20’s all the way to the future (don’t worry, no twerking!).

The show shook things up by having a civil dance off, where couples battled each other for extra points. But come elimination time, everyone was shocked about which couple went home.

The couple to go home this week were leaderboard champs Willow Shields and Mark Ballas! The Hunger Games star and her partner danced a jazzy ninja routine to represent “the future.”
Ballas expressed he always wanted to do a ninja routine to MGMT‘s Electric Feel, which surprisingly received a 37 out of 40 from the judges. But come elimination time, the couple was still sent home.
The judges were completely stunned and the actress was holding back tears. A shocked Ballas only had great things to say about his partner:

“You know, it is what it is. I just want to, first of all, say a big thank you to Willow for being the most incredible partner. She’s only 14, guys. She’s out there dancing, keeping up with everybody. Thank you again for everything. It’s been a hell of a ride. I couldn’t be more proud.”

Onto the better performances of the night…

The highest scoring performance came from Nastia Liukin and new partner Sasha Farber danced a “modern day” Charleston to Andy Grammer‘s Honey I’m Good.
After Derek Hough suffered an ankle injury, he had to let Farber take over — but he still found a way to incorporate himself into the dance.
Though the Olympian admitted dancing with a new partner was challenging, they nailed the performance and received the highest score of the night — 38 out of 40!

Rumer Willis and Valentin Chmerkovskiy had a troublesome week when the starlet tweaked her neck during practice and was suffering from fatigue — she lamented how she wasn’t an athlete and her body was shutting down.
But they pulled it together in a spirited 60’s-jive for Meghan Trainor‘s Dear Future Husband. The judges gave her a 35 out of 40 and told Willis to take it easy!

Riker Lynch and Allison Holker took it way back to the 1920’s, dancing a Quickstep to Wiggle by Scott Bradley & Postmodern Jukebox. The couple got dirty doing a sports inspired routine, as baseball stars were the pop stars of the 20’s.
The R5 frontman and his partner hit a home run with their performance, breaking into an amazing tap session in the middle of the routine. They scored a 37 out of 40, and Lynch received the perfect 10 from Len Goodman that he desired!
Do U think the right couple went home this week?
