And she would know – it’s her hometown!

In a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, romance novelist Danielle Steel revealed she thought that San Francisco was a poor place to go if one was looking for fashion inspiration. She explained:

“There’s no style, nobody dresses up ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ you can’t be chic there. It’s all shorts and hiking books and Tevas. It is as if everyone is dressed to go on a camping trip. I don’t think people really care how they look there; and I look like a mess when I’m there, too.”

Maybe it’s something in the water then? No?

We suppose that after spending years in Paris, San Fran would pale in comparison, but no need to hate, Miz Steel. The city has its own flare, its own unique take on what is stylish. If there’s a place for DIY shoes in fashion, there’s a place for Tevas too.
