If you’ve seen the 1995 comedy Tommy Boy, you’ll remember the hilarious scene of the late Chris Farley putting on David Spade‘s jacket and singing “fat guy in a little coat!”
Spade appeared on Monday’s Conan to give a bit of insight on just how that iconic line came about!
According to The Ridiculous 6 actor, he and Farley shared an office at Saturday Night Live.

While Spade was trying to write sketches, Farley would always distract him by putting on his tiny Levi’s jacket and reciting what is now the classic line!
So, when they needed to fill up time with some comedy while filming Tommy Boy, they figured they might as well use the bit that always made them laugh — and it totally worked!
