NBC Renews 'Days Of Our Lives' After Report Claimed The Entire Cast Was Fired!

Days of our lives renewed

Days of Our Lives lives to fight another day!

Less than a week ago, it was reported the long running soap opera had released every single cast member from their contracts, sparking an outcry from fans who feared the show was getting axed.

Well, viewers can now breathe a sigh of relief, because the show has officially been renewed for a 56th season!

According to Entertainment Weekly, a Corday Productions executive told the cast Thursday that the renewal is happening — they just need to finish the paperwork. As per usual, the cast will go on a year-end break and production will resume in January.

So, yeah, all that drama for nothing!

Currently, DOOL is wrapping up its 55th season. While NBC has eight months of episodes in the can, it was feared the actors might be out of work for a bit if the network didn’t close a deal with distributor Sony Pictures Television.

After the bombshell TV Line report caused mass panic among DOOL fans, some of the cast took to social media to clarify that they had NOT been fired, as the article suggested.

Actress Kristian Alfonso, who has starred on the show as Hope Williams Brady since 1983, slammed the rumors of cancelation, telling DailyMailTV:

“It’s totally wrong. I’m sitting in my dressing room right now. We would love to know where this is from. The head writer just went upstairs to do a long-term story meeting. It’s insane, it’s crazy. As far as I know I will back here tomorrow morning at 6am and so will everyone else… We’re still here with long days and early mornings. I really didn’t think much of it. Honestly I didn’t think much of it because I know the facts. There is a full cast of people out there and I see props setting things up for the next shot.”

Costar Camila Banus also clarified the situation in an angry Twitter video, telling fans:

“I wanna clear some things up, I know there’s been some crazy stuff saying that we’re being axed, that the whole entire cast has been let go, that the show’s going off the air… Let me clear this up for everybody… all these articles with headlines saying that our show’s been axed, that we’ve all been fired is BS, it is fake bulls**t. I have not been fired from Days of Our Lives, that is ridiculous. It’s shameful. It is not real.”

Camila went on to tell DailyMailTV:

“There’s not much to clear up. We’re in negotiations and nothing has been set so that’s just false information, that’s it. It’s just our regular hiatus.”

It appears she was right!

Phew… it’s been quite the journey with this story!
