A legend has passed.
Deacon Jones was part of the L.A. Rams Fearsome Foursome from 1961 to 1971, and will go down as one of the greatest football players in the history of the game. He passed in his own home in southern California at the age of 74.
He was so good, he’s the reason why the word “sack” is even in the sport! Plus, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1980 — an honor for an outstanding player.
To us, 74 is still too young to pass away (he died of natural causes). We’re sorry for his friends’ and family’s loss.
