Todd Meadows’ cause of death has officially been determined.
More than five weeks after the Deadliest Catch deckhand tragically passed away while out fishing on the Bering Sea, we’ve learned what caused his death. According to the 25-year-old’s death certificate, which was obtained by TMZ on Monday, he died from “drowning with probable hypothermia” and “submersion of body in cold water.”
That’s so incredibly awful…
The death certificate cites his time of death as 5:15 p.m. local time on February 25th in an “accident” aboard the Aleutian Lady vessel in Alaska.

A Coast Guard representative previously revealed Todd “fell overboard approximately 170 miles north of Dutch Harbor” and was “recovered unresponsive by the crew approximately ten minutes later,” and “first aid and attempts to resuscitate were unsuccessful.”
So, so sad.
It was also revealed that Deadliest Catch cameras were rolling during the time of the accident.
Our hearts remain with Todd’s loved ones. Rest in peace.
