When we first saw Demi Lovato‘s DAZZLING engagement ring, we instantly knew it was wildly expensive — early estimates said maybe $850k or even a million.
But according to sources speaking to TMZ on Tuesday, those guesses were actually QUITE conservative. See, they say the ring had to cost at least $2.5 MILLION! And that’s minimum! It could be as much as $5 mil!!!

Why so ‘spensive??
Well, it’s not just the 10-20 carats of pure diamond weighing it down. It’s also the cut, which was by celeb jeweler Peter Marco. Apparently Demi’s fiancé Max Ehrich spent quite a lot of time (if not his own money — that’s only two months salary if you’re Jeff Bezos!) consulting with Marco to get the ring just right.
In the end what the Confident singer got was an emerald cut set in platinum, surrounded by trapezoid-shaped diamonds (which would each be considered a decent size for your typical ring). You can get a good look at it by scrolling through the pics (below):
