Demi Lovato Remains Candid On Eating Disorders

One of the best things about Demi Lovato, other than how kind and caring she is, is that she is ALWAYS open and honest about her struggles with eating disorders. She is never silent about how hard it is to control her own thoughts on her body image.
The world and young women are better because of this!
Here’s what she said:

“I was about 12 or 13 when I developed my eating disorder, and at that time nobody in the public eye talked about their body issues. I feel that if someone had admitted they had a problem, then I wouldn’t have gone down that route myself. That’s my goal in talking about my problems: I want to be the person for other girls that I needed to admire when I was looking for help and strength.”

That’s exactly who you are, Demi!
She continued:

“It’s OK to love your body the way it is and it’s OK to reach out for help if you have drug and alcohol problems, or if you’re self-harming or being bullied.”

We want to echo her positivity and support — there is nothing wrong with reaching out for help. There is NOTHING wrong with your bodies, and healthiness comes in many different forms, shapes, and sizes. What matters is that you’re okay!
Demi, we love what you’re doing and who you are!
