Dennis Rodman once told ESPN that he became “unhirable” when he stopped drinking eight years ago.
His agent Darren Prince, says otherwise.
Rodman said that the NBA wouldn’t touch him when he was sober, saying:
“I was boring.”
Prince (his agent, not the artist formerly known as) thinks different though.
He said Rodman makes a living hosting nightclub parties and has had plenty of sober work, including a Super Bowl commercial back in 2005.
He said:
“Even in his prime with the Chicago Bulls in the mid-90├óΓé¼Γäós, he never had a Super Bowl commercial.”
Prince went on to say that Rodman’s drinking actually sabotaged opportunities for him like sports casting on TV or getting fired off Celebrity Apprentice in 2009 after drinking on the job.
Prince continued:
“I know if he got sober, he could get a coaching job. He could be a rebounding coach, possibly work in the front office. We├óΓé¼Γäóve had many discussions with TNT and others, and they all say the same thing ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ he├óΓé¼Γäós too risky, because they don├óΓé¼Γäót know if he├óΓé¼Γäós going to show up drunk or not show up at all.”
That’s actually really sad.
We hope Rodman learns to listen to his agent, he sounds like a good guy.
