So much for an original idea!
On Tuesday we showed you all the odd creation known as the BeardHead, but it turns out the makers stole the idea from Icelandic design team Vík Prjónsdóttir.
The original designers, who dubbed their facial headpiece the BeardCap, posted this warning on their website:
V├â┬¡k Prj├â┬│nsd├â┬│ttir is a brand build on honesty. It├é┬┤s our passion to use local material and have the production locally to support the community. Sadly, it seems that honesty can be a difficult for some people and thats the case with the people behind the fake brand Beardhead. These people have copied V├â┬¡k Prj├â┬│nsd├â┬│ttir’s Beardcap, started a company and are selling it around the world. Scandinavian Grace, our former retailers in New York, even have a documentation that they ordered a Beardcap from the store in January 2008. We mostly feel sorry for all the ones that have bought the fake Beardcap with out realizing it. If you feel like supporting V├â┬¡k Prj├â┬│nsd├â┬│ttir then you can to a lot by commenting on their Facebook wall, on the blogs they mention at their website etc. because you can be powerful enough to make a difference.
Kind of an odd design to copy, but unfortunately it happens.
Thoughts???
